This week kicks off a multi-week focus on what to “search” for in scripture study! We use this week’s Come Follow Me reading in Jeremiah to demonstrate one of Cindy Young’s favorite methods. Focusing on Jeremiah 1 (especially verses 4–10 and 17–19), she highlights the promise “I am with thee” (Jeremiah 1:19) and shows how to find the same principle through repeated phrases and repeated ideas expressed in different words. She compares focused searching to noticing colors around you, encourages using her free worksheet at primarilyscripture.com, and suggests annotating insights so the Holy Ghost can help you remember them later. She invites viewers to look for this theme and others in Jeremiah, including agency and consequences, repentance, and the Lord reaching out in love through His prophet.

Don't forget the parable of the snowball:  listening to someone else talk about the gospel is like having snowballs thrown at you. Reading the scriptures is like making your own snowball. Taking the time to search, ponder, and pray about what you've read is like rolling the snowball around and around so that it grows and grows. So don't just listen to me - please go read for yourself so your knowledge and testimony can grow and grow!!
